The following sections give a detailed look at all the commands that the player can use for Blue Depths.
Summon
The summon command is used so players can summon any of the Blue Depths exclusive mobs into the game without having to go out of their way to find manually look for them. These summoned creatures will never despawn naturally, so it is important to be aware of that.
How to use
In order to use the summon command, the player can simply type in:
/function blue_depths:summon/...
Into the chat box (without the three dots at the end of course). From there Minecraft will give you a list of suggested mobs to spawn in, the suggestions work just like every other Minecraft command to help players find which mob they want to spawn in.
Display
The display command is for players that want to display the creature models into the game for whatever reason. Whether it is for doing a showcase or whatever. Please note that most of these models do not have a hit box and will remain animated, they are not static models. These models have no AI and when spawned, will face the same direction as the player that summoned it.
How to Use
In order to be able to use the display command, the player can simply type in:
/function blue_depths:display/...
Into the chat box (without the three dots at the end of course). From there Minecraft will give you a list of suggested models to spawn in, the suggestions work just like every other Minecraft command to help players find which mob they want to spawn in.
These models do not go away by themselves and cannot be killed manually. In order to get rid of them, there are two commands that can be used.
/function blue_depths:display/kill_closest
/function blue_depths:display/kill_all
For the kill_closest command, only the model closest to the player executing the command will be cleaned up. For the kill_all command, it will destroy ALL models, although some models in chunks that have not been generated will not be killed.
Destroy
The destroy command allows players to destroy or kill blocks and mobs added by Blue Depths. It mainly functions as a way to get rid of the blocks and mobs incase something breaks with conflicting datapacks or maybe for uninstallation.
To use the destroy command, simply type in the chat box:
/function blue_depths:destroy/...
Make sure to not include the three dots at the end, it's just a place holder. Once you type that in, you will be given different options for destroying, below lists those options and gives a description of what they do:
- /function blue_depths:destroy/all_bd_blocks
- This command destroys all Blue Depths blocks existing in the world that are PLACED down, from chucks that have been generated. Once those blocks are destroyed, the block item will not be dropped, instead the items that are used to craft those blocks will be dropped instead.
- SPECIAL NOTE: For the case of the electrode, the electric eel item will not be given back.
- /function blue_depths:destroy/all_bd_mobs
- This command will kill and destroy all Blue Depths mobs (including the boss) within currently generated chunks
- /function blue_depths:destroy/closest_bd_mob
- This command will kill ONLY the closest Blue Depth mob (including the boss) to the player who executed the command.
History
Development History
| Datapack Version | Addition/Change |
|---|---|
| 1.1.0 (Roaring Rivers Part 1: Below the Surface) | Officially revealed the summon and display commands to the public and are working as intended |
| 1.2.0 (Roaring Rivers Part 2: Shocking Snap) |
|
| SPECIAL NOTE | Please note that even though the summon and display command were officially revealed in 1.1.0, some of these commands actually existed since 1.0.0, especially the summon command. These commands were only used for testing purposes back in those versions, which is the reason why they weren't included as features back then. You can check versions 1.0.0 - 1.0.3 to use these commands, but be warned that they may be missing some creatures, some creatures may not behave as intended, or the command might be absent entirely. |
