The following sections give a detailed look at all the commands that the player can use for Blue Depths.

Summon

The summon command is used so players can summon any of the Blue Depths exclusive mobs into the game without having to go out of their way to find manually look for them. These summoned creatures will never despawn naturally, so it is important to be aware of that.

How to use

In order to use the summon command, the player can simply type in:

/function blue_depths:summon/...

Into the chat box (without the three dots at the end of course). From there Minecraft will give you a list of suggested mobs to spawn in, the suggestions work just like every other Minecraft command to help players find which mob they want to spawn in.

Display

The display command is for players that want to display the creature models into the game for whatever reason. Whether it is for doing a showcase or whatever. Please note that most of these models do not have a hit box and will remain animated, they are not static models. These models have no AI and when spawned, will face the same direction as the player that summoned it.

How to Use

In order to be able to use the display command, the player can simply type in:

/function blue_depths:display/...

Into the chat box (without the three dots at the end of course). From there Minecraft will give you a list of suggested models to spawn in, the suggestions work just like every other Minecraft command to help players find which mob they want to spawn in.

These models do not go away by themselves and cannot be killed manually. In order to get rid of them, the player can just type this into the chat box:

/function blue_depths:display/kill_display

Please note, that this will kill ALL displays that have been generated, so it is best to be careful with how you want to display the models.

History

Development History

Datapack Version Addition/Change
1.1.0 (Roaring Rivers Part 1: Below the Surface) Officially revealed the summon and display commands to the public and are working as intended
SPECIAL NOTE Please note that even though the summon and display command were officially revealed in 1.1.0, some of these commands actually existed since 1.0.0, especially the summon command. These commands were only used for testing purposes back in those versions, which is the reason why they weren't included as features back then. You can check versions 1.0.0 - 1.0.3 to use these commands, but be warned that they may be missing some creatures, some creatures may not behave as intended, or the command might be absent entirely.
