Ecosystem Details

Oceans have received a huge upgrade with Blue Depths installed. What used to only contain 6 aquatic mobs now has a total of 11 new and unique aquatic mobs.

Ambient Mobs

The new ambient mobs that add more diversity to oceans are Tuna. These mobs add more atmosphere to oceans, and provide an abundant food source for the player. The design of the tuna is inspired by the atlantic bluefin tuna.

Utility and Environmental Hazard Mob

Oceans also contain a brand new mob, the Box Jellyfish. These creatures can come in 6 different colors. Players should be careful when approaching these jellyfish though, since they can pack a pretty nasty sting if you get too close. They also drop the Nematocyst Gel, a new item that provides a new way of obtaining slimeballs.

Predatory/Hostile Mobs

Oceans now have a new predator, the Great White Shark. These sharks are somewhat rare, but if you encounter them it is best to proceed with caution. Although most will be neutral to the player, some will actively stalk and attack the player, although they won't do as much damage as the aggressive type, who will swim much faster and deal way more damage than the stalker variant. The any version of the great white shark can become an aggressive variant if they receive damage.

The real danger comes from the Bull Shark. Although they are smaller and deal less damage than the Great White Shark, they are much more likely to attack the player unprovoked, and can be easily angered if the player sticks too close to them for too long.

Another creature, who in most cases are friendly, but nonetheless is still a predator is the Orca. These cetaceans act exactly the same as regular dolphins, except when provoke like regular dolphins, will deal way more damage than regular dolphins. It is best to stay nice to these creatures, otherwise it's partner, other surrounding orcas, and dolphins will start attacking you.
